Street Washing

Great Windmill Street Pavement Washing - May 2010

In May, Community Clean commenced cleaning of the walkway on Great Windmill Street (Trocadero Side) to remove chewing gum and to give the pavement an extensive clean.  To give the area the cleanest surface possible, a low pressure, hot water floor scrubber and specialist chemicals were used.  This removes oil, grease, grime and carbon particles that build up over time.

In addition to this, due to the amount of street urination in this particular area, we ensured that a bio-inhibitor was applied which is a non-hazardous product that breaks down odours and restricts future micro-organisms.

Coventry Street Pavement Washing - March 2010

In March, we commissioned Community Clean to undertake extensive pavement washing and chewing gum clearance in Coventry Street.

The total paving area cleaned was approximately 1,600 square metres, running from the junctions between Great Windmill Street and Wardour Street on the north side of Coventry Street, and between Haymarket and Oxendon Street on the south side.

Please see below a 'before and after' snapshot of Coventry Street as these works were taking place.
