In early 2008, together with the New West End Company, we established West End Streets (WESt), a group dedicated to helping define the private sector’s vision for the West End’s public realm.

Created by London First and with the support and involvement of central London BIDs, WESt is now an influential lobby group for the West End.

WESt researched all of the public and private sector public realm projects which are capable of delivery before 2012, and has lobbied for delivery of the most important projects.

The key projects to date include:

• Leicester Square
• Legible London
• Marble Arch
• Reduction of buses in Oxford Street and Regent Street
• Oxford, Regent and Bond Street Action Plan (ORB) Oases
• Redesign of the St Giles Circus area
• Central London’s cycle hire scheme
