The Directors supporting the Heart of London Business Alliance have been elected from a variety of backgrounds and professions in order to offer a wide and all encompassing range of skills, experience and balanced opinion.

The purpose of the Board is to lead and guide the work of the Business Alliance providing valuable insights into the business sectors within the area.

image Simon Wilson: Chair
Simon Wilson is Facilities Director for a global management consultancy whose UK headquarters, employing several hundred people is situated within the Heart of London area. Simon is on the Board of the PCP to represent the views of major employers and occupiers of office space, and to ensure that initiatives benefit not only the retailers and visitors but also the hundreds of people who commute and work within the Heart of London every single day.

imageKevin Chapman: CLS Holdings Plc
Kevin Chapman represents CLS Holdings Plc which is a quoted property investment company with a total portfolio valued at approximately £1 billion. CLS Holdings are long term investors and understand the importance and value of working with local communities, councils and associations to promote and improve local neighbourhoods.

Kevin is pleased to act as a Director of the Piccadilly Circus Partnership, promoting its aims and objectives and representing the owners of 1 Leicester Square and Coventry House, Haymarket.

Peter Clegg: Gascoyne Holdings
Gascoyne own a number of properties within the area encompassed by the Heart of London and are pleased to be involved in the Business Improvement District.

imageRobert Dawson: The Crown Estate
Robert Dawson is the Retail Asset Manager at The Crown Estate, responsible for retail asset management within central London. His focus over the last few years has been with the ongoing £500m regeneration of Regent Street to make it a unique world class retail destination. The Crown Estate is committed to stewardship of its holdings and as with its board membership of the New West End Company strongly supports the Heart of London key themes of improving the public realm, a safer environment and a drive to better market the area. Within the BID area, The Crown Estate is freeholder of the Criterion Block at Piccadilly Circus and has many other substantial holdings within the West End.

imageDelaney Gordon: Hard Rock Casino
Delaney Gordon is General Manager for Hard Rock Casino, London. The Hard Rock casino in London combines the Hard Rock music culture and food with casino games.  Having the opportunity to input their thoughts into the management of the area is important to the Hard Rock Casino.  "As a world-renowned destination we need to ensure visitors have a memorable experience in a clean, safe and well managed environment”.  Delaney is also chair for the Leicester Square Association, a job she enjoys as it gives her an opportunity to put something back into the community.

imageChris Hilton: Odeon Cinemas Ltd
Chris Hilton is General Manager of the Odeon cinemas in Leicester Square - Odeon West End and Odeon Leicester Square.

Odeon Cinemas Ltd is the major film exhibitor in the UK with some 25% of the market, operating over 600 screens across 121 sites. In the West End there are 7 cinemas, with 4 in the BID area.

The Odeon Leicester Square is host to World, Royal and Gala Premieres, the BAFTA ceremony has taken place there for the last four years.

 

image Tony Hutt: Associate – Four Communications
Tony Hutt joined Four from Weber Shandwick in 2004 where he was an Associate Director. He has worked in public affairs since 1984, first at GJW and later at BSMG and then Weber Shandwick. Here he handled high profile planning issues and property clients in central London especially in the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Louise Hyams has been a Councillor for St. James's ward since 1998 and has been very involved in the numerous and diverse issues that affect the central area of London since that time. She is extremely committed to the BIDs concept in general and the PCP BID in particular as she believes that it is only through the close partnership of the Business community with the Council, the Police and local residents that the area can be improved for everyone.

She is delighted that since its inception the Piccadilly Circus Partnership has worked with Westminster City Council to bring about noticeable improvements to the Leicester Square and Coventry Street area and is looking forward to the further enhancements that the Partnership will bring to fruition in the future.

imageEamonn Laverty: McAleer & Rushe Ltd
Eamonn Laverty is Managing Director of McAleer and Rushe, a company which was formed in 1967. McAleer and Rushe are established specialists in the development and construction of city centre office, hotel and mixed-use projects. Eamonn is delighted to be a Director of Piccadilly Circus Partnership and looks forward to working with the Heart of London team to help improve and make this area a better and safer place to work and play.

Torquil McDougall is employed by Land Securities and is responsible for the property management of their London investment portfolio. Previously Torquil was a director of Insignia Richard Ellis and a partner at St. Quintin.

Land Securities' extensive experience in the regeneration of city centres across the country and its association with other business partnerships enables the company to contribute to the activities of the Heart of London Business Alliance. As a founder member, Land Securities fully supports the objective of landowner and tenants working together to improve the working environment.

Land Securities' holdings in the area include the world famous Piccadilly lights, Haymarket House and retail space. By improving our properties through better management and refurbishment and supporting the BID initiatives such as security and cleaning, Land Securities are able to contribute to the further regeneration of the area.


imageRoger Payne: Sound Roger Payne is Managing Director of Sound in Leicester Square - proud to operate one of the foremost entertainment venues in the UK, featuring television studios, bars and fine dining. Sound even has a café, all in the heart of London. Since coming to Leicester Square, Roger has experienced the vibrancy and diversity on offer, and has taken a keen interest in local affairs. Earlier last year he was voted as Chair of The Leicester Square Association, the forum for Residents and Businesses in the locality. Roger is very pleased to be involved with this project as he believes the plans for the area, and the Business improvement District will give soul to the Heart of London.

imageSarah Porter: Heart of London Business Alliance, Chief Executive
As Chief Executive of the Heart of London Business Alliance, Sarah's prime responsibility was to take the company through to a formal BID. This was achieved on 31st December 2004 making it the first operational BID in central London and the second within in the UK.
Following the success of the renewal vote in February 2007 Sarah is now driving forward the plans for the long-term rejuvenation of the area making Piccadilly Circus, Coventry Street and Leicester Square a cleaner, safer and more vibrant street environment by day and night, with the vision of creating a centre of excellence for entertainment in a world class destination.
Sarah has worked within the urban management environment for 15 years and is a Board director of the Association of Town Centre Management and Westminster CCTV Trust.

imageJohn Proctor: Prudential Property Investment Managers Ltd
John Proctor is PruPIM's Director of Property Management and Leasing, responsible for the management of Prudential's commercial property portfolio, excluding shopping centres, throughout the UK. He is a Fellow of the RICS and is responsible for Prudential's major incident management process.
John is actively involved in Town Centre Management issues and is a Board Member and Honorary Treasurer of ATCM. He is also heavily involved in BIDS initiatives and is currently on the Boards of the New West End Company and Holborn Business Partnership.
Prudential, with its significant property investment in the West End of London has been a long-term supporter of BIDs in the capital and is pleased to be offered the opportunity of joining the PCP Board to contribute to the successful delivery of the business plan for the BID area.

imageBarry Sayer: Clear Channel Barry Sayer currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of both Clear Channel United Kingdom Ltd. the Outdoor Advertising division of Clear Channel Inc. of the USA and as Chief Executive of Clear Channel Independent, the Outdoor Advertising partnership between Clear Channel Inc. and Independent News and Media Plc in 13 countries of Africa.
Barry has served as a Director of the South African Research Advertising Foundation and as chairman of the Outdoor Advertising Association of South Africa for 3 years. He was previously CEO of the Johannesburg stock exchange listed CorpCom Advertising Group after selling his own outdoor company Sayer &Associates to the listed entity in 1997.
His earlier career was spent as the Advertising and Marketing Manager of a major daily newspaper in South Africa and then Managing Director of Advertising Displays and the Franco signs group, the largest outdoor advertising business in Africa in the 1980’s.

Patrick Scott is a director of Old Park Lane Management and represents the owners of 48 Leicester Square and a number of other West End properties. He is keen to see owners, tenants and other interested parties working together to improve the safety and environment of the Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square area.



imageRobert Thomson: Lillywhites
Robert represents Lillywhites, one of the oldest and largest sports retailers in the UK, and holds the position of General Manager of the flagship store at Piccadilly Circus.

Since the inception of the Piccadilly Circus Partnership, Robert said "There has been a noticeable improvement in the area - it is a much safer, more pleasant area to visit. In the past the area around Piccadilly Circus, and indeed Eros itself, was a bit of an eyesore for people visiting London - be they tourists or locals - and the standard was not comparative with other major cities in the world."

Robert's main reason for being on the board of PCP is to help raise the standards higher still and ensure that it becomes a destination that all who work in the area can be proud of and that tourists will wish to re-visit time and time again.
