The dedicated Heart of London Street Team provides an invaluable resource helping keep the streets within our area - many of which experience the highest footfall in Europe - clean and great to use.
The Heart of London continues to monitor baseline agreements with WCC and as a result the Street Team is emptying less bins, and is able to focus on the removal of more posters, stickers and graffiti.
The team cleans phone boxes and bus shelters in the area on a weekly basis and
the Police Pavilion on Piccadilly Circus is cleaned six days per week, with a major spring clean carried out every quarter.
To assist our Street Team, we have invested in a new clean machine, 'Ruby'. This new machine is designed to scrub the paving and vacuum the waste water. Two operators use the clean machine between 7am and 12pm daily.

The programme to address street urination continues daily and a new product called ‘Pear Drop’ has been introduced, a disinfectant that leaves a sweeter smell.

"There is no doubt that the area is a cleaner, safer place as a result of Heart of London and the public sector working closer together," Commander Chris Allison, Metropolitan Police.
